What Are the Migrant Protection Protocols?

The Migrant Protection Protocols (MPP) are a U.S. Government action whereby certain foreign individuals entering or seeking admission to the U.S. from Mexico – illegally or without proper documentation – may be returned to Mexico and wait outside of the U.S. for the duration of their immigration proceedings, where Mexico will provide them with all appropriate humanitarian protections for the duration of their stay.

I was grateful to be invited to be a part of the Border Experience Mission Trip led by Nathan Arledge of Myers Park United Methodist Church in Charlotte. We visited sites that support folks seeking asylum in the U.S. Our team of 12 community activists served about 1,000 meals to asylum seekers at a refugee camp in Matamoros, Mexico.

This just in. The Blood of Women / Il sangue Delle Donne in Bari!

I am so honored to be one of the original group of artists in the exhibition. Love the design on the invite. Thanks to Manuela De Leonardis for her work and curatorial genius which has made this exhibition into a lovely experience for all of the artists involved. It has been a great way way to initiate dialogue about the sometimes invisible experiences of women.
