Thanks to Susan Martin for the photo below of the exhibition we are in at Western Carolina University Fine Art Museum, Cullowhee, NC.

Western Carolina University’s Fine Art Museum is highlighting its permanent collection this summer with a new exhibition, “Cultivating Collections,” that opened June 4.

The exhibition focuses on three strengths of the museum’s collection that the curatorial team expects to grow over the next five to 10 years: photography, artist books and contemporary Native American art. As the museum expands its holdings of more than 1,800 works of art, those concentration areas will provide a foundation for future directions in collecting, said Jill Jacobs, marketing manager for WCU’s John W.

Here are a few images from Borderlands: Evidence from the Rio Grande which is on view until July 28 at the Gregg Museum of Art in Raligh, NC.

Now until July 28 in the Randy and Susan Woodson Gallery

“Borderlands” is Susan Harbage Page’s testimony and a commemoration of the courage, fear, hope and determination that continues to drive countless people to risk everything in search of a better life.
